about Brouwersweg 100 C-gebouw type B 09 January 2015

I lived in Brouwersweg 100 (C Building) during my time as an exchange student in Maastricht. My experience was mixed and I'll split this review into the good and bad elements. Good elements: - Good room of a decent quality with necessary amenities (sink, lighting, desk) Free-to-use washing machines and dryers located on each floor. Well-heated. - Generally friendly staff - Good bike storage facility, with adequate security protection - Tennis courts and provision of rackets and balls in the summer was an unexpected surprise. - Located near to city centre and less than 5 minutes away from local supermarket (Albert Heijn) Bad elements: - Interior was aesthetically depressing. Apparently the place used to be a part of the hospital and it appears no redecoration has been attempted since. Could do with a new look. - Security didn't always deal with us amicably, we couldn't gather in groups of more than 20 people or something weird like that. Lighten up. - Frequent breakdown of washing machines/dryers. - Breakdown of electricity in kitchen on two separate occasions, leading to failure of fridges. - Several sightings of mice in the kitchen, one of which died in the inner workings of our fridge. - Bit pricey for what it is Overall I'd say that there were a few faults with this accommodation. None of them really bothered me that much because I was living with great people and having a brilliant exchange experience. All of these faults are worth it because the Guesthouse is full of people from all over the world who love a good party and are generally awesome. I'd still rather live here than some lonely flat in the city.
