Had a great experience living there.

This place is so so so bad. Don't waste your money on this. I rented a room in 2015 when I first moved here and my room was so dirty that I was just disgusted to be home. Furniture is SO OLD - my bed would sink in the middle when I lied in it, I actually got back pain from it so I would have been a ton more happy if they said the furniture isn't included in the room because that furniture they include is basically crappy and not even worth mentioning the room comes with furniture. The laundry machine broke a few times and it took forever before they fixed it. In the winter I also got mice in my room and it took the landlord about a week to come and look at it - and even then he brought one small bag of poison that didn't do anything at ALL and I had at least 5 or 6 mice in the room. In the kitchen you could see the facies close to the stove top but again nothing was done about this (sure the cleaning lady was cleaning it but nothing was done about the mice problem at all). On Sundays there are only 3 buses to the city and that makes it very inconvenient to go anywhere on Sundays. Biking is fine even though it is a bit far - however, it rains a LOT and it often isn't a pleasant bike ride. Lastly and most importantly - the landlord deducted money from my deposit (HE DEDUCTED MONEY FROM THAT DEPOSIT FROM EVERYONE ELSE TOO) because of "extra water and electricity" that we apparently used - however, when you sign the lease you sing it for a year - from august until the end of july - nobody actually moves in august - majority of people move in late august - early September and majority also leaves for the holidays in December and around May the house was empty again . So those extra expenses do not add up. Overall a terrible place, don't waste your money - find something in town and save your money from these people.

If you carefully read the contract, you notice it's completely unfair. So be careful!

OLD AND MOLDY - STOLEN FOOD AND BIKES - FAR FROM EVERYTHING - SHADY TENANTS Worst place I have ever lived in. It all started with my room welcoming me not only dirty and moldy, but also furnished instead of unfurnished. The key was laying inside of my room instead of being handed to me by the landlord. The sink was leaking when I arrived, but thank god there was an old bucket right underneath to save my room from being flooded and even more humid. Luckily I didnt need to worry about hearing the dripping sound all day, as there was a main street right in front of my window, so either the soothing sounds of construction starting at 7am or the endless number of trucks driving by kept my ears busy. Be advised that on sundays and on holidays there are maximum three busses (at least when I lived there, one was early in the morning, one around noon, one around evening), biking to the city center takes 20 min. The kitchen door was always open, as the smell was not bearable otherwise. The people I lived with were messy and didnt know how to clean up a toilet after using it. The bathroom of house 45 is located in the kitchen and was moldy as well. The washing machine (there is one for the total of around 30 people) regularly broke and on more than one occasion someone slept in the laundry room, threw up there or put their pooped-on clothing on the floor. Why that was possible? Oh, because there was no key for the laundry room and no gate for the courtyard, so whoever wanted to step on the property could freely do so (the mailboxes are also here). Melroos Plaiz calls itself a student residence, but also housed shady people in the middle age group that sometimes decided to take their motorcycle apart on Sunday mornings, yell the whole afternoon and one time knocked on my door half dressed asking me and other roommates for a needle. For several months someone stole food out of the fridge in both houses 45, also several bikes got stolen. Not only did it take a month to get my deposit back, but I am still waiting for a part of it.

We visited today Melroos Plaiz . A very kind landlord showed us the studio and at the end we rent the flat. You too did a good Job. Thank you! Kind regards M. Oomen
